We continue the discussion from the last entry.
We began this project with only $500. All in an effort to help out the small retail investor who doesn’t have a lot of money, understand the importance of growing an income account, as opposed to a trading account. Remember that these numbers are computed off of Friday’s close and are updated each week. It’s live … as it happens …
Total Sharpe Income Balance: $3,993.05
Total Sharpe Income YTD Return: + 3.73 %
Sharpe Income YTD Paid Yield on Cost: + 1.05 %
Total Sharpe Income YTD Maximum Draw-down: – 1.34 %
iShares Barclay’s IEF YTD Return: + 3.50 %
S&P 500 Index YTD Return: + 8.68 %
S&P 500 Index YTD Maximum Draw-down: – 2.61 %
This week, we are placing 100% of this weeks ‘capital deposit’ in the category segmented to the ‘capital gains’ strategy; which if you remember … is already sitting at 100% straight cash. Thus, the cash is reserved thusly …
Total Cash: $2,292.97
Income Assets Cash: $105.41
Capital Gains Cash: $2,137.56
Reserve Cash: $50.00
Cash for Income Assets: $0.00
Cash for Capital Gains Allocation: $0.00
Cash for Tier Capital: $50.00
Last week I stated that we were looking at ‘topping off’ the cash in the trading segment of the project …
I had stated “We hope to have some trades soon“.
Well, since we had no posts here at Sharpe Trade announcing any trades … obviously … we haven’t had any trades for this particular project since the last update.
But this is fine. Although it does not show up in the performance; this weeks capital deposit to the ‘Trading Category’ has increased that category by 1.19% in a week. So it’s all a win-win for me. If a trade comes along? Great. I have more cash to make that trade. If it doesn’t? Then our ‘trading category’ is growing in the capital we can use … week by week.
I am actively keeping my eyes on the markets, waiting for a trade to take for that category.
We continue forward with this project, putting all of the pieces together to the greater whole …

We continue the Sharpe Income project with this next entry.
