Week in Review: Are You Having Fun With This Market?

Posted on Aug 22 2015 - 11:29am by Sharpe Trade

Friday’s stock market movements can only be described as a complete rout.  The markets opened, climbed ever so slightly, and began to sell off, precipitously.  The S&P 500 Index closed down over 64 points.  It basically fell off a cliff.  For the day, the S&P 500 Index was down 3.19%.  And this followed the previous day, which was again, a precipitous fall.

We have stated in the last few entries that we really don’t like this particular market.  We have said this in podcasts and text entries.

So now what?

Is it time to panic?  What do we think of recent moves?  How have we performed through this move?  Is there going to be a repeat of 2008?  Will the market crash?

Why?  What are our thoughts on a September rate hike?  Within such an environment, how can you tell what stock is trading at a good value?  How does tail risk apply?

Grab your cup of coffee this weekend, as we discuss all of this in the following podcast …
