Pure Luck

We had stated earlier that we are ‘up’ on the year, despite ourselves.

And it seems we continue to stumble fortuitously through this market chop.

After getting shaken out of that long in Gold, we were fortunate enough to take advantage of some markets where volatility had piqued, and sold some premium, bringing some cash into the ’till’ as it were.   September has always been a good month for dividends, so those have been pouring into our collective ‘coffers’.

At the moment, we are benefiting from all rallies in the Q’s.  At the same time, established a few bearish bets in single technology names, such as Amazon (AMZN) and Apple (AAPL).  Luckily, all of those particular bets have paid off well.

And no matter what anyone tries to tell you?  Luck does play a part in trading.   Especially when considering binary trade events.  If the word ‘luck’ puts you off?  Fine.  We have ‘fortuitously’ profited from several opportunities.  Whatever floats your boat.

And to diversify things a bit, one of our folks floated the idea of a directional long trade in SGG, that seems to be paying off.  At least at the moment.

If our luck holds, that play will turn us a bit of coin as well ..

How do we produce such fantastic risk-adjusted performance?
