Sugar Trade Sours … Premium Softens the Blow

Posted on Sep 19 2017 - 1:17pm by Sharpe Trade

Well that Sugar trade we had mentioned doesn’t seem to be turning out too well.

Which is fine.  Not every trade is going to be winner.

At the same time, we discovered some opportunities to sell some rich option premium, so we’ve been able to not only soften the drawdown we’re experiencing on the Sugar long, but pack on a few extra BPS at the same time.

Yes … we are still long the Q’s.  And at the same time, though it’s a small weighting, our income assets have collectively decided to rally higher for the last 15 days, and the last time that process saw these levels was at the end of July.

While we have a few dedicated processes that are up 18% and 17% for the year as individual strategies, our total book is up near 10% thus far for the year.  We’re continuing to hang in with that Sugar trade

How do we produce such fantastic risk-adjusted performance?
