Broker Frustrations and Pushing Charlatans Buttons (PODCAST)

Posted on Jun 12 2016 - 9:31am by Sharpe Trade

We have referred to these podcasts … as “Week in Review” podcasts.  In other words … perhaps a review of what has occurred in the last week, in the markets.  Or perhaps, what has been occurring with Sharpe Trade, LLC.

As of late, Sharpe Trade, LLC has had to deal with a bit of frustration.  That revolves around brokers.

But it hasn’t been entirely frustrating.  We’ve sort of had fun with a campaign we began to launch last week to specifically target and draw-out some of the snake-oil salesmen and scam artists that we know have been lurking out there.  To do that, we have to explain a bit of the legal structure, of Sharpe Trade, LLC itself.

Grab your cup of coffee as we discuss all of this in the following podcast …

My brokerage update the balances of the accounts each night. So, if company ABC pays a dividend on say Jun 15, you will not see that dividend on Jun 15. It will show up the next day.

Another is option expirations. If an option is assigned it will not show up until Tuesday morning instead of expiration Friday or first thing Monday morning.

I know the FX broker you’re talking about. I have a phone number and email address of theirs, and never had a problem reaching customer service. But, the last time i called them was actually just to send a positive message about how they dealt with the swiss franc move.
It’s possible they had to cut back on some services to get their books back in balance after the losses they incurred from that move.Same goes for the spreads I’d assume. Now it makes me nervous. Hopefully I don’t encounter any problems.
